Equipoise
(Boldenone Undecylenate)
Boldenone Undecylenate is an extremely popular anabolic steroid best known by the trade name Equipoise given to it by Squibb. This is a veterinarian grade anabolic steroid and it is not available on the pharmaceutical drug market. However, contrary to popular belief, at one time there was a human grade version available. Ciba released Boldenone Undecylenate in the 1950’s under the trade name Parenabol, but by the 1970’s it along with many other human grade forms disappeared from the market. It was shown to hold some medicinal purposes in regards to treating muscle wasting diseases and osteoporosis, but in time there was no longer a need with other steroids taking its place.
In the modern era, Equipoise is officially known as a vet grade steroid often given to horses. It has a strong effect on lean muscle mass and the overall health of the animal in a strong and positive manner. Currently Fort Dodge Animal Health manufactures the Equipoise brand, and it is available under several other generic names worldwide.
Performance enhancing athletes are by far the primary users of Equipoise. There is hardly a steroid supplier on earth who doesn’t carry the Boldenone hormone, but vet grade is something many won’t have access to. Most Equipoise traded on the black market will be manufactured by underground labs (UGL’s); unfortunately, most UGL’s under-dose and often counterfeit the steroid. There is a large supply of subpar EQ as it’s commonly known on the performance related steroid market. This has caused many to shy away from it in recent years thinking it’s a terrible steroid, when the truth is more than likely they simply purchased a terrible brand.
Equipoise Basics:
Equipoise is a structurally altered testosterone hormone. It carries a double bond at the one and two carbon atoms, thereby reducing total androgenic activity. This is a very slow acting steroid due to the massive Undecylenate ester that is attached. After a single injection of Equipoise, the individual will receive a sharp spike of Boldenone, but it will continue to release the hormone steadily for approximately 25 days after injection.
Equipoise largely shares similar traits with testosterone that revolve around protein synthesis, nitrogen retention and a reduction of glucocorticoid hormones. EQ is also well-known for increasing red blood cell count, a trait also shared by testosterone, but EQ tends to do a better job.
A common misconception when looking at Equipoise is to compare it to Deca Durabolin (Equipoise). This rumor has spun so far out of control many assume the two cannot be used in the same cycle or they will conflict with one another by combating for the same receptors. This is not the case and is nothing more than a rumor. Not only do steroids fail to work in this way, Boldenone shares almost nothing in common with the Nandrolone hormone. This myth first began when Dan Duchaine made an inaccurate assumption in his studies, one he would later recant, but the mere fact that he said it has been enough to keep the rumor alive.
Carrying an active half-life of approximately 14 days, EQ injections can be administered once per week effectively. However, most athletes will find multiple injections to be far more efficient if stable blood levels are to be maintained at their peak. Two injections per week of an equal dosing will normally suffice. Most men will find a total dosing of 400-600mg per week to be perfect.
Side Effects of Equipoise:
As a testosterone derivative, Equipoise does aromatize, the process by which testosterone converts to estrogen; however, EQ only aromatizes at about half the rate of testosterone. This makes EQ a very friendly anabolic steroid when it comes to estrogenic related side effects like gynecomastia and excess water retention. With moderate doses, most men will not suffer from any related effects, but many performance level plans will still require the use of an anti-estrogen in order to provide protection.
Equipoise carries a very moderate androgenic nature, and its translating action is even less than its already low rating would imply. Issues such as acne and hair loss are rarely a concern. EQ also carries no hepatotoxic nature. There is no risk of liver damage when using this steroid. It is also quite friendly on cholesterol, and as long as water retention is controlled, which should be easy with this steroid, blood pressure issues are a rarity. However, to be on the safe side you should not supplement with this or any anabolic steroid if you already suffer from high blood pressure or cholesterol.
Equipoise will suppress natural testosterone production significantly. Exogenous testosterone supplementation should be part of your EQ use. Failure to supplement with exogenous testosterone will lead to a low testosterone condition. Once use is discontinued, you will find this is a fairly easy steroid to recover from, especially with proper post cycle therapy (PCT). Once all the exogenous hormones have cleared your system, natural production will begin again. Natural recovery is assuming no prior low testosterone condition existed. It further assumes no damage was done to the HPTA during supplementation due to improper practices.
